RivoShield protects selected Windows locations by blocking deletion. Archive mode can additionally block create, edit, overwrite, rename and move operations while allowing view and copy-out. Neither state produces a separate recovery copy.

What RivoShield addresses

It reduces accidental or unauthorised deletion inside enabled protected locations, records relevant activity and gives administrators a controlled way to freeze completed folders into a view-only state.

What backup addresses

A sound backup strategy keeps independent copies for recovery after hardware loss, corruption, ransomware, location-wide failure or mistakes outside the protected scope. Backup quality depends on separation, retention and tested restoration.

What versioning addresses

Versioning retains earlier states so users can recover from unwanted changes or overwrites. RevoShield is Rivora's separate encrypted versioning and recovery product; RivoShield has no recovery system.

A layered approach

Use control to reduce risky actions, versioning where earlier states matter, and independent tested backups for recovery. The layers complement one another; none should be described as covering risks it does not address.
